Three-Day Less Intensive Group Policy Essentials Workshop

All Levels

Why this Group Policy course?

This course is perfect for the desktop administrator, OU administrator, or beginning domain administrator. Advanced administrators (and fast learners) should consider the two-day Intensive workshop as well.

Three-Day Less Intensive Training and Workshop Timing

The Three-Day Less Intensive Training and Workshop has a less extreme schedule than our two-day intensive class.

  • Class starts each day at 9:00 and breaks for lunch at 12:00
  • Class starts up again at 1:00. You're on your own for lunch.
  • There is more time for labs during the day with personalized assistance.
  • Class ends at 4:00 to 5:00 each day.

Once you've taken this course (or the three-day Less Intensive course) you would be a good candidate for our other courses: One-Day Advnaced Course and Group Policy Security Course.

Additionally, since this is the XP version of the course, you might want to consider our "Vista Group Policy Catch-up" class some time in the future.

WHAT STUDENTS NEED TO BRING

While not strictly required, this class is enhanced if the attendees each have their own machine bring their own laptop to class. This is so we can perform real-world workshop experiments to solidify the concepts learned during the lecture and demonstrations. Each attendee should come to class with a laptop with at least the following specifications:

  • Windows XP or Windows 2000 pre-loaded
  • User has local administrative logon rights to the laptop
  • Pentium III at 500 Mhz (Pentium 4 at 1Ghz or Pentium Centrino at 1Ghz Recommended)
  • 512 MB of RAM (1GB STRONGLY RECOMMENDED)
  • 6GB free hard drive space

Here's what administrators like you had to say about the class

“ Jeremy, I just wanted to say thanks again for the information presented in your training this week. I was able to learn a number of tips & tricks concerning GP that will be applicable in our environment. We have two departments that can surely use their own OU and be managed with GP. I've been wanting to do this for awhile and now that I've been pointed in the right direction, I can finally make it happen. You're awesome, dude. ”

Jeffrey Ballard, Oregon Department of Transportation

“ After listening to Jeremy, I felt much more confident in working with Group Policy and using it for many benefits in our Organization. The book was a great supplement, too. ”

Mark Flannery, Manager, IT Operations, Miller‐Valentine Group.

“ Even after working with GPO's for several years now, the training was of great value to me. I did not regret [flying in from Europe] and joining the training for one second. On the one hand I got the confirmation that I was on the right track developing our current set of GPO's and on the other hand I learned a lot of new useful things. I can't wait to start with the preparations. ”

Frank Verheyen, Henkel International
