Is it possible to apply GPOs at a very granular level such as only applying them to computers that are only laptops or that have certain types of hardware?
Yes there is and its called WMI Filters. Its like adding laser-sighting to the gun of Group Policy. You can create WMI filters within the GPMC and then apply them to your individual GPOs. Theyre a little bit of work but they can really be worth it. Jeremy discusses the topic thoroughly in his book in Chapter 4 and in the training class.

In all, we think it’s the right place to go for Group Policy-specific questions.
It’s a private group, but just JOIN it, and the owner should approve your request.
See you there !
