We have a GPO assigned to our user's accounts, that forces the screen saver settings. Can this be blocked from applying when the user logs into a Windows 2000 terminal server? How?

    Thanks

Have you tried using a loopback policy?

If you want to reverse one policy, and only have it affect the folks who are logging into a terminal server, you can use a loopback type of group policy.

First create a new group policy. Under the computer configuration, look in Administrative Templates|System|Group Policy. You'll see a setting called 'User Group Policy loopback processing mode' Set this to enabled, and then choose how you want to handle the loopback settings. Merge will merge the user settings stored in this policy with the settings is receiving from their other group policies, and replace will replace all of the user settings.

Now, under the user configuration portion of the policy, change the screen saver settings to the screen saver settings you want to have applied to all of the users use your terminal server(s).

Link the policy to the OU that contains your terminal servers, and away you go. Of course, if you do not have all of your terminal server computer accounts in their own OU, you can always create a security group whose members are your terminal server comptuer accounts and then filter the newly created group policy on that security group.

    Hope that helps!!

Thanks for the help, the loopback setting was exactly what we were missing.
