You might be able to figure out what the setup is doing and knock out just the files and registry entries. In other words, "Laser surgery" -- which is no fun at all...
Ugh.. sometimes there isn't a great solution.
I have VirusScan 4.5.1 running on all machines on my network and I'm going to upgrade to 8.0. I've created an .msi using Installation Designer. The catch is that 4.5.1 must be uninstalled prior to installing 8.0. The 8.0 .msi doesn't check for 4.5.1 before installing. McAfee has a setup.exe which will uninstall 4.5.1 first and then install 8.0, but I don't think I can deploy that with group policy. Any ideas?
I'm new to group policy so even basic suggestions are welcome.
