If you have the Group Policy Preferences Client Side Extension installed on the XP boxes, you could do it with Preferences: How do I disable Java updates with Group Policy? | Group Policy, Y'all .
I need to disable Java update checking on 360 computers via GPO.
We have a Windows 2008 R2 domain.
K-12 school district.
Windows XP Pro and Windows 7 Pro clients.
I was thinking of doing a VBS script to change the registry for these. I've noticed that Javasoft is no longer located in HKLM\Software. I did notice though that it is located in HKCU\Software. Is this where I want to make these changes? Or is there some other place I have to make this change?
I'm open to ideas on how to accomplish this.
Thanks!
