Default Only admin users can install software

Greetings, and thanks for your patience! I'm new to GP, and have been thrown in as sysadmin whether I like it or not.

I'm running Server 2008, and have setup a OU with a group and users, one user is a common user for different employees - the user ID is "Operator"

When logged onto the domain as Operator, I can't install any software - I get an access denied error. If I log into the domain as an administrator, I can install just fine all day long.

So, I'm sure that I am having a permissions issue here, but I don't know where to look or what to change. The Operator user is part of the G_Operators group, which is linked to a group policy I just setup.

Thanks for any help and advice, I appreciate your patience with a n00b!

    Default

By default, any computer that is added to a domain has the "Domain User" group in the local Users group and "Domain Admins" in the local Administrators group.

If the members of "G_Operators" need to be able to install software, you need to, most likely, add them to the local Administrators group. I would recommend against putting your users or the "G_Operators" group into Domain Admins.
