Mar-Elia is also one of the co-authors of the "Windows Group Policy Guide" book in the 2003 resource kit.

A very detailed book and great if you want to know more about what is really going on under the hood. Generally much less practical and "admin friendly" than Jeremy's, though, when you want to try and learn about GPO from scratch and get to know how to use it and manage it successfully (after all, I can drive a car without knowing how to build one, right?)

    Hi all,

If you want an option to Darren's tool we have a similar tool that adds some extras as well.

How about graphical reporting, wake-on-lan, remote restart/shut down, ADUC integration etc. And....It is still free of course.

Feel free to check it out and tell me what you think. I believe Jeremy likes it a lot, right Jeremy?

Just to be clear before every man and his dog out there start thinking they should use these forums to promote their products:
    1) Specops software is already listed in the GPanswers Solutions Guide (http://www.gpanswers.com/solutions/), in other words, we are happy to link to their stuff already

    2) In case you didn't see the small print in Robert's post, he is talking about a FREE tool - so go check out SpecopsSoft GPUpdate!
