We are in the process on updgraing to windows 2003 active directory. Currently all user accounts are in the format of lastname-firstname, since we need to change it to lastname.fristname, remove hyphen and replace it with dot, sine the profile of the users will be affected by this change , how to change the profile names from hyphne to dot following the user name format changes. Is there any script out there that may help.

    Thanks in advance

As long as the user's SID don't change and this is just cosmetic, then any profiles which already exist on their PCs will be fine without any changes (since it is the underlying user account which is actually used to identify it, despite the name of the folder), and new ones created by logging on to a machine for the first time will get the new name format.

If you have roaming profiles you wil need to rename the shared copy of the folders (maybe using a script) and redefine in AD (maybe using dsmod), or leave them as they are and just use your new convention for new staff
