i want to use group policy preferences to map drives
(easy enough at a ou level)

however how can i get around different mappings for different group memberships

ie if member of group A then to to share X Else map to share Y

Think you could use item-level targeting for this. On the properties of each mapping under the common tab tick the Item-Level Targeting box, this will activate the Targeting box on the same screen. here you can add a new item and select a Security Group for the type.

Haven't used this for drive mappings but have for printers, etc and it's worked fine there.

Hope this is what you need.

    Richard.
