    Default Duplicate Nodes following conversion

    Hi all,

Lets see how I go with my first post

I have convereted a policy using Migrator and have duplicate system, windows components etc... If I edit the XML file I can get it down to one say System/Netlogon but now I have duplicate Netlogon nodes :-) I have tried to edit the name of netlogon from netlogon_CAT to the same as the Netlogon.admx file but this still does not work

    Any ideas?

Ok, So after lots of investigation and a call to MS, it is not possible to use the existing nodes unless you actually modify the MS default files, i.e. if you wanted a setting to go into Netlogon, you have to add your policy settings to the netlogon.admx file... Not a very good method imho.. A management nightmare... so this in mind the best practice is to create a custom base file and to reference this file within your custom policy.. I have done this fine and it works sort of ok, I am having difficulty in creating sub folders under this file though, has anyone managed to do this? Or, know how to do this?

    Thanks,

    Sean

I have finally managed to sort this after many, many attempts... I am even a little proficient in writing a bit of xml after all this

If anyone needs help on this I would be more than willing to try my best
