I am trying to create an ADM file which tattoos the registry creating a registry key with a datatype of REG_SZ. All of the examples I have found don't specify a datatype and are all REG_DWORD. I am trying to create a key to open a port for the Internet Connection Firewall on XPSP2. I can do it with a script but am having some problems creating an ADM file. Any ideas would be apreciated. Thanks, Curt

Maybe I'm missing something, but there is a policy setting under

Admin Templates | Network | Network Connections | Windows Firewall | Domain (or Standard) Profile

    called

    Windows Firewall: Define Port Exceptions

Will this do what you want?

Yes! That sure sounds like what I am looking for! Thanks a lot for the pointer. (If you give enough clues to the clueless, eventually they will solve the mystery.)
    Cheers,
