I was always taught disable link / wait / Delete link /Delete GPO.
Not for an login reasons, but mainly from the point of view it's quicker to renable a link than the "oh no, we just deleted a GPO and need it back"
I need to know is the following is a bunch of BS or I should follow this advice given by an instructor in a windows class.
Never delete a GPO that is linked to users. Always disable/delete the link then wait a while for all the PC's to figure out that they are no longer linked to the GPO. Then after a couple of months delete the GPO, otherwise this will cause long login times because the PC will be looking to process a GPO that is no longer there.
Thoughts??
