I'm having some trouble with my password policy. I currently have my policy configured at the top of my domain, in the Default Domain Policy. It is currently set to "Enforced" and "Link Enabled".

For the past couple of days we've been getting messages saying that our passwords are soon to expire. Our policy is set at 90 days, and we are getting these messages when we should have at least another 50 days on our current password.

After some investigating I noticed that the Default Domain Policy has reverted the configured Password Policy settings back to the default settings.

I reconfigured them and did a "net accounts" and verified that they were configured correctly.

I come in this morning and check again, and they have again reverted back to the defaults. Why is this doing this and what can I do to fix it?

Thank you, any help is appreciated.

It sounds like a bum replication issue at face value.

How many DC's in the domain?
Have you checked the version numbering on the policy in the GPMC console (GPT and GPO)? Before and after the change and subsequent 'rollback'

Any third party GP tools involved?
