    Default Best practices for layout

Hello - I couldn't figure out where else this should go so I hope someone sees and can answer.

My knowledge of GP and AD is kind of pieced together as I had to learn it. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for best practices in how to organize OU's and GPO's - I don't have tons of machines or users - I'm in a library environment and have maybe 600 machines and probably quite a bit less users - but I don't know how people generally organize a hierarchy of their OU's and such - I feel like I kind of have a mess and that maybe I could do a better job on keeping my layout a bit cleaner - but wanted to know how someone knowledgeable would do that.

    Thanks.

There's no hard and fast way to lay out your AD structure; Its about what works for you with the policies you create.
If you had multiple sites or domains your AD structure will be a more complex than the chap down the road running Small business server.

How it looks is irrelevant - How it works is what matters. Where's your current pain points in administration and would restructuring your AD help resolve them?
