Greetings and before we begin, I started GP's yesterday using Jeremy's 3rd edition GP book....so....here I go....

Have 5 servers and want to blank out the username when administrators get to the server to login in. Anyone accessing my servers needs to provide username and password (can Domain be blanked out too?

Using GPM on DC

Have OU called 'Servers' (3 of the 5 are in here, the two others are DC's)
|_ Created and linked GPO here
|_ Named it Clear Username at Login
|_ Computer Configuration
|_ Windows Settings
|_ Security Settings
|_ Local Policies/Security Options
|_ Interactive Login
|_ Policy = Do Not Display Last User name - Setting = Enabled

On DC, performed gpupdate /force
RDP'd to server (appsrv1) performed gpupdate/force
RDP'd to appsrv1 and logged on/off several times - did not restart server (can't!)

user name box still populated with 'administrator'

I'm using RDP to connect to these servers which is why I need this GP. RDP is available to my servers and I don't want the username populated in case of outside intrusion.

any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
