Hello!
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide. I have a quick question about configuring the Windows Update GPO in the Computer Configuration. I created a new GPO called SUS Updates b/c I've been doing some reading and saw that I should not alter the original default domain policy; thus I created a new one. When I created a new one, I noticed that the GPOs listed for Windows Update were only a fraction of the ones listed for the Default Domain Policy. Can you tell me why this is and how I may go about installing the rest of the admin templates? It seems as though there are 11 in the Windows Update in the Computer Configuration and only four in the GPO that I created. I've been searching the net but have yet to find an answer.
I've also noticed that the date on my adm files is out of synch w/what your books says they should be. I'm running a Win2k Advanced Server, SP4 and the default policy templates are dated 7/04; the ones in the new one I created are dated, 7/2002, 7/2000, 6/2003, and 5/2003. Is there any way to update these files to reflect the same dates as those of the Default Domain Policy? I believe that if I can update the files, then I will no longer have the problem w/the lack of options for the Windows Update.
Thank you again and I will continue to search for answers on Microsoft and the Net.
