Default Disable "bridge connections" for netowork adapters in Windows 7 via GPO

    Hello all,

I'm looking for the reg setting or GPO to disable the ability for users to "Bridge Connections" in windows 7. I'd like to disable the menu option altogether (or grey it out).

We've created an internal tool that disables the wireless adapter should a dial-up, broadband (air card), or Ethernet wired connection is present. But this is a bit complicated and overkill. Also, it is only disabling the wireless adapter and wouldn't prevent a user from bridging an Ethernet wired adapter and say a USB broadband card.

I want to enforce a policy that states a user cannot bridge connections, period. Doesn't matter what medium.

    Thanks in advance.

Take a look under Computer Configuration > Admin Templates > Network > Network Connections. The setting is called "Prohibit installation and configuration of Network Bridge on your DNS domain network". You might also want to consider "Prohibit use of Internet Connection Sharing on your DNS domain network" if you want to further lockdown the environment.
