Default Folder redirection and removing files into the recyle bin

We are using folder redirection and now I have a problem. When the users put files into the recycle bin, those files disappear directly. I think the reason that those files directly disappear is that those files are on the w2k3 file-server..

Is there a way to turn off folder redirection of the recycle bin so that the files stay into the recycle bin of the user after deleting?

What is the OS of the Desktops/Laptops exhibiting the problem? I know that is a problem with XP, but Windows 7 correctly puts the files into the Recycle Bin (which is really a hidden folder when you're doing folder redirection). Sorry... not much experience with Vista here.

As a different option, you can always set up Shadow Copies on your file server.
