Can I ask is anyone even using AGPM? There was a pretty good buzz about it at MMS, but I have not seen much about it on the tech sites.
I have a question about installing the AGPM client on an XP machine. When I run the install it says that it only works on a 2003 or Vista machine. I thought that at MMS it was demonstrated running the client on an XP machine.
If in fact you can not install the AGPM client on XP then I have a couple questions:
1. What do you do if you need to edit say the IE security polices for the different zones. When you do this with GPMC it will import the current settings on your local machine into the policy. This becomes an issue for us since we have 2 sets of rules. If you do not have the correct policy applied to the machine that you are editing on you will corrupt the settings.
2. Since we do not use Vista yet, then are we expected to RDP to a 2003 machine to update GPO's? Currently we just have a few people run GPMC on their desktops to edit GPO's.
3. Can anyone think of other GPO settings that would be OS dependant, that would cause an issue like described in #1.
Thanks for any help,
Joey
