    Hi,

Installed the Server components and the Desktop component and configured as per the instructions.

Created Domain Level groups for the different roles and assigned the rights

Server is Win 2K3 RC2 SP1 (DC), desktop is Vista. When I try and create a new offline or online policy I get access denied. When I try to do anything I get access denied. I can still create "normal" GPO.

My Account was the one specified during install so should have full Admin rights.

Anyone shed any light on this problem?

I installed AGPM server on 2003 R2 (member server) with a Vista AGPM client and it just worked.
That isn't much help.. ops:.., so if you want to compare notes on configuration or security settings leave a reply and I will try to assist.
I left the only other question in the AGPM forum and have not received a reply that anwers my question. It appears that you and I are on our own for now.
You might take a look at my post next door and let me know what you see when you run a settings report on a GPO.
    Thanx...Auto

Log on with the account that you specified as the AGPM OWNER account. When you do, you'll then be able to use AGPM to specify others to be EDITORS within the AGPM system.

I'm 95% sure this is the answer to your problem.

    Thanks !

    Hi guys,

Sorry for the delay getting back, to narrow the problem down further,

Created a Test Account with Reviewer / Editor I then created a GPO offline with the Test Account, I try to approve it (I am the AGPM Owner account) and I recieve the Access Denied message.

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers,

    Barry

PS. BTW I can REJECT the pending request!
Update I cannot create a GPO via AGPM! I have also granted my testuser Full control rights and he too can no longer create a GPO?!?

    Hi Guys,

Sorted! Turned out is was the rights on the service account. I was running AGPM on a non DC server (DC was 64bit) and therefore had to use a domain level service account. After assigning extra rights to the service account in the GPMC on the server (I copied Domain Admin) all was fine (so far )

    Thanks for the help.

    Regards,

    Barry

    Default AGPM Vista Access Denied

Windows Vista contains a range of new technologies and features that are intended to help network administrators and power users better manage their systems. Notable changes include a complete replacement of the "Windows Setup" process, completely rewritten deployment mechanisms, support for per-application Remote Desktop sessions, new diagnostic and health monitoring tools, and a range of new Group Policy settings covering many of the features new to Windows Vista.
