Default Printers

Has anyone noticed that if users switch machines alot their default printers can change? Or this a problem with our profiles?

if their default printer is not available on another machine (because it is local or is added to the machine rather than the user) it will pick one to use and this would then be left in their profile (if you are using roaming - if you are not then their default could be different on every machine)

can you tell us a bit more about the setup and what exactly you are seeing?

I actually wrote a VBS script to get aroung this issue. I have a text file that gets read in by the VBS script on login and matches it to a machine name. Once the printer is picked, it moves with the user from there on out and in the case of highly mobile users, it will be wrong more times than right.
