I have already posted a topic on this one but it seems no answer is ready to clear this one up.
I am very desperate to find the solution to this one if someone can help me out than skip the other topic (thanks in advance)

When i create a mandatory profile (by renaming ntuser.dat)
and publish it to an Active Directory User then everything seems to look fine with Group Policy Processing.

But however when you make changes to a GPO, it looks like the changes are not propegated to the mandatory user profile.

My question how does this whole engine work ?

I know about the background refreshing Interval on later MS OS´es but if a NTUser.dat file is mandatory (read only) can it be that the GPO portions in the profile registry hive (HKEY_CURRENT_USER) are not holding Group Policy changes when logging of and writing back the Server Profile and logging on at the next day (for example) ?

Well it still seems a problem that is not yet solved because in all the resources on te internet there is no clear answer to the mandatory Profile Problem.

One problem described with the .dat (and .pol) files is the problem stated by microsoft:

    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=830464

Sinds Loopback Processing was enabled in Merge Mode in another GPO this seemed to be the problem, resulting in not applied GPO settings.

Did not yet test a mandatory profile with updating GPO settings but for now the above solution (disabling loopback processing and cleanup the pol en user files)solved the problem.
