Unable to load user profile error

I work for a public library system that is using Windows 7 machines and a Windows 2k8 R2 server. Our current setup works this way. Our public PCs logon to a server where they grab a mandatory roaming profile and then have a group policy applied for security and lockdown. We also have autologon turned on in the registry so that when a user logs off the system automatically logins back in to the public profile. So, everything works great normally. The computer boots up, automatically logs into the public profile (being pulled from the server and having the GPO applied). Then the patron uses the computer, then when they are done, they end the session, the machine logs off and then logs right back into the public profile and is ready for the next patron. Or at least this is how it's supposed to work. The problem comes because somehow something corrupts the local profile. We must then log into the administrative desktop, remove the SID entry from the registry and delete the leftover user profile that didn't get deleted from the GPO. Sorry for the book, but this is VERY frustrating! There must be something simple that I'm overlooking!

You know what! Now I feel like a royal idiot! I've done this sort of thing a million times and you'd think I would know better. The problem was indeed my fault. I was linking the computer policy to the user OU instead of the computer OU. Once I linked it correctly, everything began to apply as expected and the problem went away!
