Unhappy Group Policy Preferences doesn't seem to work all the time

    Hello,

    Just some background information first...

Taken over a network which had two Server 2003 Domain Controllers. Upgraded to Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and promoted the domain to the same level, binned the two old servers. Running a network of both Windows XP and Windows 7.

Group Policy polices work fine, applying all the time on all machines. Group Policy Preferences seem rather random. I use preferences so far to apply internet settings (i.e. proxy information (yes, I enabled it by using the function keys)), drive maps and some registry settings. They all work most of the time, but sometimes when users log in it just sort of forgets the settings (mainly internet settings).

This is getting to be a bit of a pain, I'd rather use these preferences more, but if there not reliable I may have to forgot about it all and do it with logon scripts. (I cry a little every time I load the logon script up...).

Hope that makes sense and if someone can help me, many thanks in advance!

    Stephen
