Hello,

We have been having an issue on our network for almost a year now. Intermittently some computers will lock up at applying personal settings. The computer will never finish logging in and has to be hard rebooted. In addition, once this happens typically that user will not be able to logon to the computer until someone with administrative rights first logs in then logs off. We have over 1500 computers and about 2 dozen OU's but there is no pattern to when it happens so it does not appear to be OU specific. In fact there are even some times when a user with administrative access cannot log onto a machine and another user with administrative access must then log on. I enabled verbosestatus on all machines and found it now says applying group policy shortcuts policy when it locks up. I have enabled the userenv log and the log appears fine. The shortcuts policy appears to complete but the computer just never makes it past. Here is an excerpt from the userenv log of a machine that was hanging. That is the very end of the log so you see it appears as if the policy is completing. As I said, we have been having this problem for over a year now. I have been dealing with it on the front lines helping users as the Lead Tech and only recently have been elevated to Systems Administrator so would like to address this issue as my first order of business. I appreciate any help. Thank you.
