Default GPO to force Proxy Settings on Network

    Hi Friends,

I have a Domain with 25 Workstations. I have set the GPO from my server using GPMC to apply the Proxy Settings to all the Authenticated Users. Let me tell you in detail:

I have created a new policy under the Users Configuration >> Windows Settings >>Internet Explorer Maintenance >>Connection > Proxy Settings...

Here, i have provided the IP (example: 123.126.123.3, port: 3128). This Policy is being kinked with the My entire Domain. The Settings of the GPO is applied to all the Authenticated users.

This GPO is not getting applied to any of the users. So i ran GPRESULT and found that the Policies are getting applied and there are no errors. Tried Rebooting the machines, tried recreating the GPO's, tired running GPUPDATE /FORCE. But nothing seems to be working out.

All the workstations have a IE8 Installed, i have also checked and updated the latest ADM version.

But nothing seems to be working out. every time i open IE >> Tools >> Internet Options >> Connection Tab >> Lan Settings >> the Proxy server tab is always unchecked.

Please some one Help me with it.. It is too urgent....

    Awaiting Reply

    Regards,

    Novicky

First off, I would highly recommend against putting this as a top-level policy unless you're really really sure you want it applying to every account. I'm in an environment with tens of thousands of accounts and we only have two or three top level policies. Everything else is set inside of OU's.

That said, can you run a gpresult /v on an affected computer as a user that should be getting the policy and post it here so some of us can look at it and see what's going on.

    TIA!
