I am trying to use one GPO to change some advanced settings in Users Configuration > Preferences > Control Panel > Internet Settings.

When I right click and select New I am presented with multiple versions of IE to select. I chose IE 7, made my settings, then went back and selected New again and selected IE8 to make the same changes in hopes of using one GPO for both versions.

It allowed me to do it, and even shows an "Order" which is changeable. However in testing it does not appear to make the IE8 changes. Nor does it list the IE8 settings in the GPMC right side window under the "settings" tab.

Am I missing something or is it not possible to use one GPO to make preference changes for multiple versions of IE?
