An error has occured while collecting data for Power Options

I've created a GPO in our Windows 2008 domain that sets Preferences for the Power Options on a Windows XP SP3 system. I've applied the CSE update to the XP system also. The Power Options I've specified don't get applied after startup and a subsequent login. Looking at the Group Policy Results I see:

An error has occurred while collecting data for Power Options.

The following errors were encountered:
An unknown error occured while data was gathered for this extension. Details: Invalid Class

Sounds like the CSE update may not have done it's work (?)

I am having the same issue when trying to apply power settings, specifically to control what is done with the lid is closed on laptops... Did you ever have any luck getting this working?
