Microsoft put a cap of 30000KB (30MG) on the max User Profile Size. You can edit the %SystemRoot%\Windows\Inf\system.adm file to increase the cap.

    See: MS KB290324

A useful 'gotcha' to know about, but just to be clear - by default there is no maximum size for a profile. If you try to restrict profile sizes through GP then the size of 30,000 is the greatest maximum that you can set without making this change.

Despite what the article says at the bottom about this affecting 2000, this issue still exists in the ADM files for XPsp2 and 2003sp1 as well. So not very helpful that it was reviewed in March 2007 without this bit of info being updated.
