Thread: Link Order Tab Display Error

    I have 3 OUs below my domain. When I open GPMC and select the "Linked Group Policy Tab" and click on any of the OUs, I can't see any of the inherited policys within the GPMC. This prevents me from being able to change the link order of my policies. Only the policy linked at that level will show up.


    My AD is at the 2000 functional level and my GPMC station is a Win2003 SP1 server. It is possible that other admins from our site have accessed the GPMC with an older OS. This problem has me very worried and could use some help before I call MS. Thanks.

    What you describe sounds normal to me - you can't decide that a policy linked at OU level 1 should be treated as higher or lower priority than one linke at OU 2. Policies are applied in the order site, domain, OUs from top to bottom, last one to apply wins (in cases of settings conflict).
    You can only affect link order of policies linked at the same place.
