I just recently installed a Server 2008 server and I am trying to test Group Policy management from the server to enable remote access to GP management. Vista-based GPMC over VPN is painful when you have over 400 GPOs.

My problem is I open up GPMC on Server 2008 (after installing the Group Policy Management feature) and when I go to edit a GPO, it is missing the Deployed Printers node under User Config --> Policies --> Windows Settings. I have over 400 GPOs with this node within which we map several network printers for each location (over 400 locations).

BTW, I have a central store with all the ADMX files copied up and when you edit the GPO from the Server 2008 GPMC, it shows that it is reading from the Central Store.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction? I need that node to display from the Server 2008 GPMC for the remote GP management to be useful.

    Thanks!

You need to add "Print Management" tools as a Feature from Server Manager.
