First of all apologies if this is in the wrong category, it seemed to be the one most suitable.
A number of months ago we changed the Domain Controller to a new server. The original DC was removed, and the name was transferred to a SAN.
I have a number of PCs which connect into the site remotely and they seem to have an issue picking up the GPO. I have run GPUpdate and GPResult and I can see that the policy is still being applied from the old DC.
The PCs connect using a Cisco Pix and a Draytek router but there is no configuration on these that point to the old DC.
I have checked DNS and the entries are correct. The PCs were on a fixed IP address but I have changed this to DHCP and it has made no difference. I have even flushed the DNS on the PCs and this has made no difference.
I searched through the registry and found a couple of keys that refered to the old DC. I have changed these and the new DC is now showing in the gpresult, but the GPOs are still not being picked up.
The Group Policy slow link threshold is showing as 500kbps. Is this too low? The remote PCs do show that they are connected over a slow link.
I have placed a test PC in the AD OU and the poilcies are showing so I know the problem is not there.
Am I missing something? How do I force the computers to pick up GPOs?
Many thanks!
