When I try and access any group policy object's on our domain controller, I receive the following error messages

The domain controller for group policy is not available. You may cancel this operation for this session or retry using one of the following domain controllers

    1. The one with Operation Master Token for the PDC emulator.
    2. The one used by Active Directory Snap-ins
    3. Use any available domain controller.

No matter which I chose it fails.

Also when I try and use the Domain Controller security policy console, I receive the following error.

Failed to open group policy object. You may not have any appropriate rights.

I have looked on the KB and not been able to find anything of use.

    Any ideas appreciated

I ran into the same problem, try using GPMC... unfortunately I've run into a slew of other problems hopefully you aren't in the same boat I was...

if you are still running into problem you may want to downlaod windows support tools service pack 2...

use repadmin, dcdiag and run a few tests... you also may want to check

    C:\windows\degub\usermod\usrenv.log
there's also a gpedit.log in the same folder you may want to look over ... just a few thoughts
