You should be able to remove the old ADM files from the existing GPOs without issue. Just don't remove any CUSTOM ADMs, and you'll be okay.
Hi!
Now that windows server 2008 has a centralstore for admx files and all new policys are created without the old adm files.
I would like to cleanup all the policys in the domain!
Is it possible to remove the old standard adm files from old policys?
Or do I have to create new ones with the same settings and remove the old?
How about create a little app for 2008 GPO cleanup?![]()

Why not removing custom ADM files?
If I migrate them to ADMX and copy those admx to the central store I would not expect any issue. I should be able to edit the GPOs this way.
Am I wrong?
I agree there is the lack of an intelligent adm cleanup script (including adm backup etc.)
