so here is my wonderful challenge:
I have a distributed network of computers not on a domain. they all connect to my network via a vpn.
I have an administrative program that allows me to run commandline funcitons. like anything you would type in a command prompt. I can also copy files.
A bunch of these were accidentally sent out with a maximum password age of 45 days. Unfortunatily these machines are XPE (embedded) so between restarts the machines do not save settings.
well users are being prompted to change their password now and when they do so their password is lost to the wind when the machine restarts.
so I need to push out the change to this group policy and I made the change to one machine but my old trick of copying c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy doesn't propigate the change for some reason. This has me pretty baffiled. am I missing a step?

Can you create a policy / security template from a 'good' machine, copy this to the machines and then apply this template to them?
