If you need RIS, stick with the 3rd or 4th.. but everyone should try to move on to WDS.

I am looking at buying the two 5th edition books, Group Policy Fundermentals, security and troubleshooting and Group policy, Softgrid, Microsoft Deployment Management tools. My question is do these books contain all the information that is in the 3rd edition, Profiles and Intellimirror, especially the bit about Ris Install?

WDS also has a legacy RIS to conversion WDS facility so no need to worry about losing all your existing images and you can move forward.
